Himalayan Singing Bowls

All of the Himalayan singing bowls here are old, some 100 or more years old. These singing bowls were collected throughout the Himalayan areas of Tibet, Nepal, Bhutan and India. There are slight stylistic differences depending on the origin of the singing bowl. All of these singing bowls produce a beautiful, complex tone, full of harmonics and overtones, when struck or rubbed with a stick. Himalayan singing bowls have many uses. Traditionally the singing bowls are filled with water, rice, food or flowers as offerings. Antique Tibetan singing bowls could be used to detect poison in food. Singing bowls were also, and are still today, placed on various parts of the body for healing. The complex harmonics in the Himalayan singing bowls are an aid to meditation, helping both the mind and the body relax. Singing bowls can either be tapped gently with a mallet or rubbed around the rim with a playing stick to produce their tones. It may help to tap the bowl gently to begin its vibration. All singing bowls come with a playing stick We also have new Tibetan singing bowls, decorated with dragons, swirls and other beautiful designs.
