Restorative yoga is an antidote for stress. This gentle yoga class focuses on relaxation and attention to the breath with an emphasis on being rather than doing. Restorative yoga allows the body to open passively over blankets or props by using gravity rather than an active stretch. Focusing on the breath allows the musculature of the body to relax and open. This practice can have beneficial effects on the mind and emotions as well as slowing the heart rate, lowering blood pressure and restoring the body to optimum functioning. No previous yoga experience is necessary, although participants should be able to get up and down from the floor. Please bring a mat.
